Antidepressants are widely used in medicine. Contrary to the name, they are used not only in the treatment of depression itself, which is why they are quite commonly used not only by psychiatrists, but even family doctors. The number of antidepressants is constantly expanding, which means that they are intensly promoted. An increasing problem is the amount of drugs, not only antidepressants, but all that are prescribed to patients at one time. Including, among others, antidepressants.

The rules regarding the safe use of antidepressants remain the same as in the case of other groups, although they are sometimes used in a dangerous way and without analyzing potential interactions with other pharmacological agents. It is also worth considering the possibility of triggering side effects interpreted as mental disorders and additionally unnecessarily treated. In order to avoid such situations, more attention should be paid to educating physicians and pointing out potential risks resulting from the simultaneous use of many pharmacological agents.
