Best treatment of the diabetic kidney disease (DKD) in the clinical evaluation, should result in the preservation of glomerualar filtration rate (GFR) at the level close to normal and the regression of the markers of kidney injury. Such an effect of treatment may be reached when the multifactioral therapy directed against all the factors affecting kidneys will be introduced immediately after the diagnosis of the disease, in the earliest stage of its development which manifests as an increase of the urinary albumin excretion (microalbuminuria). The results of the studies were presented, which demonstrated that the multifactorial treatment introduced in the DKD complicating diabetes type 1 or type 2 and early diagnosed, permitted regression or reduction of albuminuria and the preservation of GFR values in more than 50% of the patients. The start of the therapy at more advanced stages of DKD resulted in only retardation of the progression of kidney function impairment.
