Objectives and Design: The pain appearance in endometriosis is usually connected with cytokines produced by active focuses of endometriosis or influence of adhesions in chronic stage of disease.
Materials and Methods: Our research was carried out in 37 patients classified to laparoscopy who were suspected of endometriosis and 21 women classified to second-look laparoscopy verifying the outcomes of treatment after half-yearly pharmacotherapy with GnRH analogues. In all examined woman-patients we diagnosed stage I or II of endometriosis according to revised rAFS classification. We evaluated the nature and localization of endometric lesions with taking into consideration appearance of pain or lack of painful complaints.
Results: We observed that in women with small advanced degree of endometriosis, pathological changes were localized mainly on sacro-uterine and broad ligaments of the uterus. However pain occurrence in early stages of endometriosis despite of pharmacological and surgical treatment may be connected with adhesions prevalence in female genital organs.
Conclusions: It seems that efficacy of associated treatment – surgical and pharmacological with GnRH analogues – is significant insufficient already in early stage of endometriosis of female genital organs.
