Still’s disease is a subset of arthritis which usually appears before the age of 16 (juvenile onset Still’s disease). In subjects who are over 16 it is classified as adult onset Still’s disease. This report describes a 43-year-old male patient diagnosed with Still’s disease according to Yamaguchi criteria (May 2003). The treatment with glycocorticosteroids in monotherapy and also combined with azathioprine was unsuccessful. The remission that lasts until now was achieved after cyclosporine A (CsA) was introduced. According to the literature methotrexate (Mtx) is recommended as the first choice medication. CsA seems to be a reasonable alternative to methotrexate in Still’s disease.
