According to the law corruption means offering, handing, demanding, or receiving by any person, directly or indirectly, any undue assets, personal property or other benefits, for themselves or any other person, as well as accepting an offer or a promise of such gains in return for influence or relinquishing an activity while performing a public office, or in the course of conducting business. It is obvious and beyond discussion that corruption has a negative impact on the affairs of a given state. The fact that it is necessary to constantly adapt the Polish criminal law to a new reality, proves that the meaning of the term corruption is equivocal and manifold. The National Health Service is one of the sectors especially exposed to corruptible dealings. In the follo-wing article we present legal aspects connected with corruption in Poland.
