Dear Colleagues,

It is exactly one year since the time the changes in “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques” (VSJ) were made. We are happy that thanks to our promotional campaigns, VSJ has been noticed in countries not only in Europe, but also in far Asia.
We are expanding the group of our partners, and we have new members of the Editorial Board (Prof. David Fuks, Prof. Vincenzo Pilone, Prof. Antoni Szczepanik). We are proud of the possibility of cooperation with them. We believe that thanks to them our journal will be recognized further and further.
In this issue, as usual, you will find some interesting articles about minimally invasive surgery, mainly colorectal and bariatric surgery. Two papers concern the possibility of early detection of anastomotic leakage in colorectal surgery. Early diagnosis of this complication has an extremely important impact on the final treatment result. There is also an interesting overview of modern treatment methods of parastomal hernias, as well as a review paper in the new section of our journal, Surgical Education, which this time includes an article about stapling techniques in bariatric surgery. This is also of great importance, as two of the following papers show the potential complications following stapled sleeve gastrectomy. There are also, as always, some case reports.
I cordially encourage you to read them.
Meanwhile, as Easter is approaching, I wish you all the best.

Jacek Szeliga
“Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques” Editor in Chief
