We are starting another year with our “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques” journal. A year with hope of a new look at our everyday work and new scientific projects. Also the World Congress of Surgery in Krakow is ahead of us. Our editorial team is ready for new challenges, and we believe that the upcoming months will bring another positive assessment of our activity.

This year, we are publishing the first issue of “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques” in January. This is because we are receiving more and more papers – almost 300 were submitted last year! We could not publish all of them, but we always try to help in different ways those authors whose works cannot be published.

We are also expanding the scope of our interests. In this issue, for the first time you will be able to read a review paper in the field of ophthalmic microsurgery. Also, it may be interesting for many of you to read the review paper about methods of monitoring patients undergoing endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms. As usual, there are several articles in the fields of general surgery, bariatrics, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery and urology. There are also, as usual, some case reports, which will no longer be accepted.

I cordially encourage you to read them.
