Dear Friends,

Another fast year of our high activity has passed. A year in which we once again achieved higher scientific indexation (IF 1.7) thanks to increasingly better quality manuscripts sent to us by our authors. And therefore, for the new year, we wish you all further success in your scientific careers, in which you will always be together with Videosurgery.
Every single scientific work submitted to VSJ is treated with the utmost seriousness. The professionals employed in the editorial office try in a very detailed and honest manner to prepare the manuscript in a form that will allow it to be presented to the scientific community. Unfortunately, more and more often we find unfair reports among the works we prepare. Last year, as many as 6 articles accepted for publication after editing and reviewing could not be published due to, for example, the publication of an identical text found in another journal. Moreover, it happened that the same text was published under a completely different authorship! This is a great disappointment for our entire team, as many people put their whole hearts into diligent work on manuscripts. It is also disrespectful to our valuable reviewers who do their hard work absolutely selflessly.
And since we have been fighting for years to make the world of science credible towards its community, we appeal to everyone for scientific honesty, because only such an approach will make us trust each other also in the professional field.
Despite these unpleasant thoughts, we are presenting you a new issue of our journal. As usual, thematically diversified, with a number of works on bariatric issues and 3 articles of the highest scientific value - meta-analyses. As usual, we also present a very interdisciplinary approach to minimally invasive surgery, so we count on the constant expansion of the group of our readers and authors.
Wishing everyone more and more frequent meetings on Videosurgery in 2024, I am sending kindest regards
Prof. Jacek Szeliga
