Due to the high level of anxiety among people suffering from various mental disorders, it is worth planning multidimensional help concentrated on stress reduction in their daily routine. Besides pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, activities such as nature-based interventions including forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) can lower the anxiety level. Due to the specific nature of psychotic disorders, forest bathing in the group of people suffering from schizophrenia is characterized by different dynamics and challenges than similar activities conducted among healthy people or with other mental disorders, such as depression or anxiety. This article describes the practical aspects of forest bathing carried out in two groups of patients suffering from schizophrenia, discussing the difficulties, limitations, possibilities and benefits of using this form of ecotherapy as mental health rehabilitation in the treatment of schizophrenia.
