This new issue of the Journal of Health Inequalities marks the third anniversary of our journal’s existence. Throughout this period our publication has developed at a very promising pace, gaining a global reach and recognisability and attracting contributions from some of the world’s leading public health researchers. The Index Copernicus Value awarded to the JHI has also grown markedly, in the latest ranking reaching a rating of 94.67. This places our journal among some of the leading public health publications in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.

Professor Boyle’s address, outlining the key global challenges on public health, had a profound impact on the policymakers, scientists, and community leaders who attended the ceremony.

Secondly, we tackle the problems surrounding influenza vaccination, both from the public health and economic points of view, with contributions from scholars from Poland, Italy, and the UK.
Thirdly, we continue our series of articles devoted to tobacco control developments in different European countries. In this issue we have the pleasure of presenting an overview of the situation in Georgia, prepared by one of the country’s most distinguished public health advocates Dr George...
