Headaches remain a serious problem for both the patient and the doctor. They carry a significant social and economic impact. Please note that they apply to all age groups. Their occurrence may cause professional absences and restrictions in personal life, sometimes also excluding a patient from social life. The division proposed by the International Classification of Headache Syndrome third edition helps a clinician to recognise a specific headache and then contributes to appropriate treatment.
