The fee has no effect on the acceptance of the article for publication. All articles submit by editorial system are reviewed by independent experts outside the editorial office and based on their opinions are qualified or not for publication. The “Central European Journal of Immunology” publishes original papers from the field of clinical and basic immunology, not published before, review articles, abstracts from symposia and conferences, book reviews and letters to the Editor. Redundant or duplicate publications will not be published. Papers should be submitted to the Editorial System on-line: http://www.editorialsystem.com/ceji Manuscripts sent by post or email will not be accepted. The Editorial System panel provides step-by-step instructions to enable the authors to supply appropriate details and upload appropriate files. All articles should be submitted in English. The title of the paper, the authors’ details and their affiliations, the abstract in English, the key words and the type of the paper are entered in the relevant fields of the panel. The text of the paper is then uploaded as a separate file. Please do not provide the authors details (personal details and institutional affiliations) in the file containing the text of the paper, as the reviews are anonymous: neither the reviewer knows who has authored the paper nor the authors know who has reviewed their paper. Full length (original) articles should not exceed 5000 words including tables and references. The manuscripts are peer-reviewed. The Editorial Board also ascertains whether the papers fall within the scope of the journal and reserves the right to reject papers which do not satisfy this condition. Manuscript preparation Manuscript should be arranged as follows: • Introduction; • Material and methods: identify the methods, apparatus (give the manufacturer’s name and address in parentheses), and procedures in sufficient detail to allow other workers to reproduce the results. Give references to established methods, including statistical methods; identify precisely all drugs and chemicals used, including generic name(s), dose(s) and route(s) of administration; • Results should be presented in logical sequence in the text, tables, and illustrations; do not repeat in the text all the data in the tables or illustrations; emphasize or summarize only important observations; • Discussion; • Acknowledgments, e.g. source(s) of support in the form of grants, equipment, drugs, or all of these; • References in citation order; • Abbreviations should always be explained upon their first mention in the text (also applicable to abstracts). Save for exceptional situations, no abbreviations should be used in the title of the paper. References: The bibliography in the text should be quoted in [square parantheses]. Ethical consideration will be taken into account in the assessment of papers which must obey the World Medical Association code of ethics, known as the Helsinki Declaration of 1975, as revised in 1983. Do not use patients’ names, initials, or hospital numbers, especially in illustrative material. References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text and should contain the names and initials of the authors (list all authors if four or less, otherwise list the first three and add et al.), title, abbreviation of the journal (according to Index Medicus), year, volume and pages. The chapters of books or monographs should be arranged as follows: name and initials of the author(s), title of the article, title of the book, editors, volume, editorial office, place, year, pages. Authors should use the following examples as guidance: Articles: Jaffe RC, Herman L (1997): Human immunoglobulin subclasses. Diagn Clin Immunol 16: 110-118, Book: French MAH: Immunoglobulins in health and disease. MTP Press. Lancaster, UK, 1986. Chapter in a book: Brown JD: Early events in the infection of the arthropod gut by pathogenic insect viruses. In: Invertebrate Immunity. Maramorosch K, Shope RE (eds.). Academic Press. New York, San Francisco, London. 1976; 80-111. Avoid citing a ‘personal communication’ unless it provides essential information not available from a public source. Tables and figures: Tables and figures should be numbered using Arabic numerals, placed on separate pages and submitted as separate files. Figures should be saved to one of the following formats: .cdr, .tif, .jpg, .ai, .bmp or .eps. Legends for figures should be typed separately using double spacing. Restrict tables and figures to those needed to explain the argument of the paper and to assess its support. Use graphs as an alternative to tables with many entries; do not duplicate data in graphs and tables. Each figure and each table should be titled and its position in the text should be indicated. Letters to the Editor: Both letters concerning and those not concerning articles that have been published in the Journal will be considered for publication. They may contain one table or figure. Proofs Authors should keep a copy of their article, as proofs will be sent to them without the manuscript. Corrections to the proofs should be restricted to printer’s errors only; other alterations will be charged to the authors. In order to maintain rapid publication, proofs should be returned within 48 hours after receipt, preferably by e-mail or fax. If the Publisher receives no response from the authors after 5 days, it will be assumed that there are no errors to correct and the article will be published. Publishing contract Manuscripts must be accompanied by a publishing contract signed by all authors transferring all copyrights and publishing rights to the Polish Society of Experimental and Clinical Immunology and stating that the work has not been published before (in whole or in part) or submitted to be simultaneously published in another journal. and has been approved by all co-authors (if any), as well as by the responsible authorities at the institution where the work has been carried out. Authors are expected to describe sources of the research founding, a role of potential sponsor in planning, executing and analysis in the study, and the influence (bias) the funding organization had on the content of the article. Other relationships (such as employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony) providing potential sources of conflict of interest in relation to the submitted article should also be revealed. After completing, signing their activation is required (scan) by placing the article in the electronic system of the application. Patients’ rights and informed consent When reporting experiments on human subjects, authors should indicate whether the procedures followed were in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration of 1975, as revised in 2000 (concerning the ethical principles for the medical community and forbidding releasing the name of the patient, initials or the hospital evidence number) and with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation (institutional and national). Information regarding the ethical committee approval for conducting the research and the informed consents of patients for participating in the studies should be included in the methods section of those articles, in which the diagnostic intervention or the treatment result from non-routine procedures. The authors presenting case studies are obligated not to disclose patients’ personal data. Regarding photographs, in case of any doubt the picture inadequately protects the patient’s anonymity his consent is required for publication. Articles describing animal studies should contain information of being in accordance with local regulations (institutional and national). Review process Manuscripts are assessed based on whether they present new insights into the topic under study and whether they can contribute to the advancement of research. It is assumed that all authors listed in the manuscript have agreed to its submission. Received manuscripts are first initially verified in terms of meeting the conditions required by the journal. Manuscripts that do not meet the conditions for publication are immediately rejected. Incomplete packages or manuscripts not prepared in the recommended style will be returned to the authors without peer review. Authors are notified of the assigned reference number after the manuscript has been registered with the Editor. This journal operates a double-blind peer review process. Articles deemed suitable are then usually sent to at least two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the article. Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The editor's decision is final. |
