OBITUARY

It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Dr. Tomasz Skirecki due to his untimely demise on January 21^st 2025, at the age of 37.

Dr. Skirecki was a distinguished physician, anesthesiologist, and scientist. After graduating from the Medical University of Warsaw in 2012, he earned a PhD in medical sciences in 2015, followed by his habilitation in 2021. As the head of the Department of Translational Immunology and Experimental Intensive Therapy, his research focused on the immunopathogenesis of sepsis. Dr. Skirecki combined unique expertise with unwavering professionalism in reviewing numerous scientific articles, including those published in our journal.
