On behalf of the Organizing and Scientific Committees, we welcome you to the 9th International Conference of Contemporary Oncology of the series Cancer the Challenge of XXI Century. The leading theme of the Conference is the Genom-based Precision Oncology – Direct Targeting and Immune-targeting of Cancer.
The Conference is organized jointly by: The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Houston, USA, II Faculty of Medicine of Poznan University of Medical Sciences, Poznań, PL, Greater Poland Cancer Center, Poznań, PL and International Institute For Molecular Oncology, Poznań, PL.
In this edition our partners are, The Polish Oncological Society, The Polish Society for Basic and Clinical Immunology, The Polish Society for Human Genetics, Committee of Human Genetics and Molecular Pathology of Polish Academy of Sciences.
In the last few years there has been tremendous progress in human cancer genome studies. Number of consortia reported their results based on thousands of cancer specimens. The era of “Precision Medicine” and translation of large-scale molecular analyses into novel diagnostic tools and therapies just came. Moreover, not only the cancer genome portrait but also tumor microenvironment, patient genetics and anti-tumor immune responses form foundations for new cancer therapeutic approaches.
We will discuss the key mechanisms involved in carcinogenesis, cancer stem cells, immune host-tumor interactions and other listed above processes.
Preclinical cancer models and results of clinical studies of targeted and immunotherapy in various cancer types will be discussed.
Lectures will be given by invited eminent guest speakers and selected from abstracts oral presentations. Presented posters will be discussed and the best once will be awarded.
Poznan city is progressively changing and is different every year. Accordingly, remarkable changes are worth seeing. The venue of the Conference will be at the same site, which is Andersia Hotel, which has proven friendly, confortable and conveniently located.
