Cholelithiasis is the most common disease requiring surgery during pregnancy. Nowadays cholecystectomy is more and more often performed with the laparoscopic technique. The paper presents the results of the operation in 7 pregnant women. Most of them were in the second trimester. The indications for surgery were: repeated episodes of biliary colic, acute pancreatitis and acute cholecystitis. The authors present their experience in performing laparoscopic cholecystectomy in pregnant patients with relevance for treatment options presented by other medical centres. There were no postoperative complications. There were no complications connected with pregnancy. According to the authors the operational technique of laparoscopic cholecystectomy performed during pregnancy does not differ much from the one performed in non-pregnant patients. Such operations must however be performed by an experienced surgical team in cooperation with an obstetrician.
