Valuation of nursing care quality at stationary hospice

Introduction. The one of the most important challenge of contemporary health care is the solicitude of services quality given by health care
institutions. Nowadays of competitiveness on the market and fuss over the patient, whose demands level still grow, this defiance become
indispensable element of management in all institutions who engaged in health.
Palliative care is a very special sphere of health care, because its aim is to secure the highest level of life quality for incurably ill people in the
downhill of life. Nursing care quality at hospice has an influence on the patients’ life quality.

Aim of the study. Aim of the assessment was valuation of nursing care quality at stationery hospice.

Material and methods. Researches were carried out at Hospice of Annunciation (Zwiastowania Najświętszej Maryi Panny) situated in
Chojnice since 2003. This institution provides care mainly to the population of administrative district of Chojnice and neighbouring districts.
Analysis methods, literature criticism and diagnostic sounding were used for the research. There was adoption of techniques of research like
documentation analysis, interview and observation. Helena Lenartowicz’s sheet of valuation called BOHIPSZO were modified by the authors
and used as research instrument.

Results. Researches shows that the nursing care quality trends on the various level in several standards and fluctuates between 73.33% and
99.49%. The highest care quality has reached the standard called interventions of nursing and healing. The lowest care quality has reached
the standard called organize and evidence of nursing care.

Conclusions. Valuation of nursing care quality is a collection of information indispensable to improve care quality. Continuation of the next
research in this sphere will be useful.
