Nodular vasculitis is a chronic, recurrent disease of the subcutaneous tissue with heterogeneous aetiology. This rare disease is found in the literature under different names, as erythema induratum, erythema nodosum of Bazin (associated with tuberculosis) and erythema nodosum of Whitfield (with idiopathic background of the disease). The clinical picture is dominated by tender, subcutaneous tumours usually located on the posterior side of the lower legs. The paper presents a case of a 66-year old man, whose first outbreak of the disease was on the finger of the left hand, after which the process of inflammation spread to the forearm, with lesions typical for this disease. Because the presence of mycobacterium tuberculosis has not been demonstrated, it was not possible to administer a specific treatment and the therapy was very difficult.
