The musculoskeletal system’s mechanisms of dysfunction, destruction and degeneration related to the neurogenic control of disturbances in performing movements are described. Proprioception plays an essential role in maintaining physiological joint functions. Although proprioception disorders, for instance in neurogenic arthropathies that follow damage of the spinal cord, are well known, there are too few investigations about individually changing, genetically implicated proprioception sensitivity threshold. Low level of proprioception may have a connection with liability to early degeneration of the musculoskeletal system.
