The aim of this article is to estimate, according to accessible literature, the influence of natural and synthetic fibers on selected parameters of human health. Such investigations were performed in many countries and indicated that type of raw material used for clothes production may have an influence on human organism. Some investigators suggest that natural fibers have more positive influence on human health than synthetic but on the other hand synthetic fibers exhibit greater endurance and are easer for preservation. Thus, clothes composed from mixture of natural and synthetic fibers are worth, to be taken into consideration. They are currently ongoing studies trying to develop best for human health proportion between natural and synthetic fibers in clothes and to define which of biochemical and/or physiological indicators describes healthy clothes in the best way.
