Introduction. Reliability assessment is an important element of studying the quality of the research tool and an essential step in the procedure of adapting a research tool to new cultural conditions. The Evidence-Based Practice Profile Questionnaire (EBP2Q) developed in Australia is a structured and standardized diagnostic tool for studying the knowledge, attitudes and skills in relation to professional practice based on facts in medical sciences. Aim. The aim of the study was to evaluate the reliability of the polish language version of EBP2Q on the basis of research carried out among Polish nurses. Material and methods. Validation group: 548 nurses taking state-run specialty examinations organized by the Centre for Postgraduate Education of Nurses and Midwives in the spring session 2014; 74% women. Mean age 42,0 ± 7,12 years (min. 35, max. 56), mean length of service 19,0 ± 8,04 years (min. 10, max. 37). Method: EBP2Q divided into 6 subscales, 74 items based on Likert scale. Statistical analysis: a-Cronbach coefficient, Guttman split-half method, discriminating power (correlation coefficient); calculations in STATISTICA 12. Results. The a-Cronbach coefficient for the questionnaire as a whole was high and amounted to a = 0.905. In contrast the reliability measured by Guttman split-half method was about 0,972. All EBP2Q subscales characterized by a high degree of internal consistency (a from 0,783 to 0,959) and good reliability of equivalent halves (from 0,804 to 0,982). Moreover in the whole scale EBP2 only two positions in the domain VI with a low degree of differential power were identified. Conclusions. The evaluation of the reconstructive accuracy showed that suggested polish language version EBP2Q is an effective tool that might be used as a reliable measurement conducted in Polish population of specialized nurses. However further studies about psychometric properties of this version EBP2 scale are needed. keywords:
