In the process of education in the nursing major, there is a necessity to take into account the particular specificity of work performed by the future medical personnel, expressed in the responsibility for the highest value, which is human life and health. That is why every institution of higher education carrying out educational processes in this field, is required to provide special care and the highest quality. This process can be aided by detailed information collected during the process of monitoring the professional career development of graduates, allowing to: relate, in an outward way, the effects of the process of education to the reality and needs of employers, carry out an objective assessment of the level and method of teaching, and make an attempt to improve the curriculum in an effective manner. The aim of the paper was to present the foundations of the developed, new model for monitoring by institutions of higher education the professional career development of graduates with a degree in nursing, distinguished by a novel solution for acquiring the data collected in the Central Register of Nurses and Midwives for the detailed analysis of quality assessment, effectiveness and marketability of education. Developed organisational, legal and technical solutions allow to reduce the prevalent problem related to difficulties in obtaining opinions from graduates.
