Introduction. In the modern, holistic model of care is important to the subjective dimension of the disease. Working with a patient chronically sick should identify the factors on which to base cooperation. Material and methods. The research has been carried out in four groups of patients differed by the stage of disease development and therapeutic methods: 1) in patients with chronic kidney disease in the stage of capacity (PChN), 2) in patients with chronic kidney disease in the end stage, treated by hemodialysis (PChN-HD), 3) in patients with diabetes (C), and 4) in patients with diabetes end diabetic kidney disease in the end stage, under complex diabetes treatment and hemodialysis (C-DH). For data collection have been employed: Sense of Coherence Questionnaire (SOC-29 by Antonovsky), Acceptation Illness Scale (AIS by Felton end alt.), functioning in a disease questionnaire (self devised). Results. The global sense of coherence SOC is in PChN-HD patients it is lower (M = 130.54). The level of acceptance of illness AIS in the surveyed groups estimated M = 22.10. It is an average value for this method, and shows the lack of full AIS among the surveyed. In the analysis of patients’ functioning differences were found in the spheres of: physical/everyday activity, social/family relationships. No differences were found in the spheres of professional and personal life. Conclusions. Patients hemodialysis exhibit average levels of sense of coherence SOC, reduced of acceptance of illness AIS, expressed in the functioning of the limitations that can be linked to a negative impact of the disease and its treatment of haemodialysis.
