Process of implementation of the quality management system in a hospital

The presented study refers to practical experiences of implementing the system of quality management
in a hospital based on PN-EN ISO 9001:2001. Practical experiences indicate that the route leading to the
obtaining of the ISO certificate, which confirms that the system of quality management has been implemented
in the Military Hospital No.1 with the Outpatient Department, Independent Public Health Care
Unit in Lublin, was a complex process and consisted of 3 stages.

The article presents the types of documentation concerning the system implemented, which was the
subject of evaluation by external auditors during the certification audit.

In the final section of the study, benefits from the implemented quality management system are discussed,
which should be considered from the aspect of a patient, hospital, and a staff member.
