Tradycyjnie choroba jest analizowana i opisywana w kategoriach paradygmatu biochemicznego. Doświadczenie przewlekłego schorzenia reumatycznego obejmuje całość ludzkiej egzystencji i dlatego możliwości skutecznej pomocy profesjonalnej autor rozszerza o wymiary: psychiczny, społeczny (kulturowy), ekologiczny i egzystencjalny.
W pracy przedstawiono kategorie postaw wobec choroby, wskazano na wielowymiarowość zachowań i środowisk oraz ich powiązań z postawami wobec choroby.

A biochemical paradigm of chronic rheumatic diseases is commonly accepted. Nevertheless an experience of ill health totally involves human existence. The author of a paper proposes a wider understanding of disease for effective intervention. This new paradigm include following dimensions: psychiatric, socio-cultural, ecological and also moral. Attitudes towards rheumatic diseases correlate with multidimensional model of patients’ behavior and environment.
