The aim of this paper is to enclose the Stroop test and interference effect in current neuroimaging data context. The Stroop test is popular used in psychiatric and neurological diagnosis and in researches with cognitive stimulation. The performance of Stroop test during neuroimaging is associated with activation of prefrontal cortex and cingulate cortex, and also other structures, such as basal ganglia and cerebellum. The important differences in this term between healthy subjects and persons suffering from psychiatrics diseases, such as schizophrenia, affective disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder were shown. In these illnesses abnormal performance on Stroop test were detected, which is connected especially with abnormal activation of prefrontal and cingulated cortex
