For the children, unlike for the adults, suffering and pain aren’t normal, obvious or natural. For the children those experiences are not understandable and they are perceived as a punishment and bring negative emotions. Neglecting fight with children’s pain, even in case of death, affects the children’s dignity and it is against their rights. The purpose of this study is to point to the children’s suffering problem in terms of respecting children’s dignity and persistent therapy.

The children’s suffering reflects their needs and expectations. Acknowledging the children’s dignity corresponds to respecting the children's rights: protection from pain and the right to live and to die.
