The EACD acknowledges that COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease) has created disruption in the world. People’s health and lives are at stake and several industries have been affected by the virus . The global reaction to combating the virus and its effects have been swift and the international attention and focus on finding solutions is constant.
The EACD would like to confirm and emphasize that our number one priority for the Annual Meeting is the health and safety of our delegates. To this effect, the EACD General Management Committee and the Local organizing team have decided to postpone the 32nd EACD Annual Meeting in Poznan, Poland to 25-28 November 2020.
This decision has not been taken lightly, but the health of all our members, delegates and presenters is our foremost concern. The theme and sessions of the symposium will remain the same and we aim to present a very similar program in November depending on the speakers’ availabilities. Furthermore, we can already be clear that all current registrations will be automatically transferred to the new dates without additional costs.
If the new dates would not work for you as registered delegate for whatever reason, we present you the option to follow the meeting via e-attendance or to transfer your registration to a colleague without additional costs. If none of these options would work for you we will put all our effort in to find a suitable solution in terms of financial settlement. We hope that you understand that the current times are unprecedented unforeseen circumstances for all of us, and that for this reason reimbursement in case you would decide for cancellation of your registration will likely include some administrative fee. We would like to be clear that this fee is only to cover some of the costs already made by the local Professional Conference Organiser. None of this fee will go the EACD, and we are putting in all our efforts to make this fee as low as possible. All currently registered delegates, authors with accepted abstracts, and sponsors/exhibitors for EACD Poznan 2020 will be updated at short notice with more detailed information, but we would like to assure you that we will aim to minimize as much as possible the implications for all involved. We sincerely hope you will all still be able to join us in November, and make this a unique, memorable 32nd EACD Annual Meeting.
